Are you new to TabTool and want to create your first project? Then you're in the right place with the web version of our software! Here, you can create and organize projects. You can access our web version, TabTool Office, without installation through the browser of your desktop device. Simply log in with your user credentials using the "Login" button in the top right corner of the TabTool homepage.
Here's how to create your first project in TabTool
On the TabTool user interface, you'll find the "Start" navigation menu on the left side, which includes the "Projects" section.
Click on the menu item "+ Create Project."
A window will open where you can enter the desired project name and choose which users are to be assigned to the project (if you are starting your first project in TabTool, you might only see your own name in the user list).
By clicking the "+ Create Project" button, your project will be created. You will now find it on the user interface unser "My Projects."
By clicking on the project name, the master file of your project will now open. It serves as the starting point from which you can create and manage all other processes related to your project. Unlike simple ticketing systems, project data in TabTool is structured hierarchically and is logically interconnected.
First, scroll down to the sections "Object Information" and "Project Master Data" at the end of the project file. Here, you can enter basic data about the project location and a description of the project.
Create Contact Files
In the "Project Participants" section of your project master file, you will find the "Contacts" folder. When you click on it as a new TabTool user, initially you will only see your own contact entry (your contact file) in the list that appears on the right. If desired, you can add further details to this entry. Simply click on your name and fill out the form that appears in the right column.
To capture your project contacts in TabTool and create new contact files for them, click on the button located at the top left above your contact file. This allows you to open and edit a separate contact form for each contact you want to create. If you want to learn more about how to create and manage contacts in TabTool, please read the article Create and manage contacts.
